If you’re planning a trip to Cedar Point this season, staying on top of the latest park updates can help you make the most of your visit. While there are no major new roller coasters for 2026, the park is adding new seasonal events, live entertainment, guest experience improvements, and infrastructure upgrades worth knowing before you go.
As frequent visitors and longtime passholders, we like to keep tabs on what is changing so you can spend less time figuring things out and more time enjoying the park. Here is a breakdown of the most important Cedar Point updates for 2026.
Barrels & Bites Debuts Along Frontier Trail
Barrels & Bites is Cedar Point’s newest seasonal food festival, replacing Frontier Festival. Held on select evenings from June 5 through June 28 (excluding Tuesdays), the event combines chef-crafted food pairings with beer, bourbon, and wine tastings throughout Frontier Trail.
Guests can sample menu items like smoked pork belly sliders, bourbon BBQ brisket burnt ends, garlic steak bite skewers, grilled flatbread pizza, braised beef short rib ragout over crispy sage butter gnocchi, honey and herb-brined smoked wings, mini crab cakes, flaming strawberry shortcake, cheesecake bites, chocolate stout mousse, and white and dark chocolate-dipped strawberries. The event also features live bluegrass, piano, and jazz performances, interactive games, artisan shopping, and Brim & Ember Trading Co., where guests can create custom hats, candles, and signature fragrances.
New Live Entertainment Comes to Cedar Point
Cedar Point is expanding its entertainment lineup in 2026 with several new live shows. Guests can catch “Rock This Way,” a new rock revue at the Red Garter Saloon, and a new pop music revue at the Jack Aldrich Theatre, adding even more entertainment between rides.
Meta Smart Glasses Are Now Allowed on Select Rides
Guests can now wear approved Meta smart glasses on select Cedar Point attractions when they’re secured with an approved head strap. The updated policy lets riders capture hands-free photos and videos while still meeting the park’s ride safety requirements. Check Cedar Point’s ride policies for the current list of participating attractions before your visit.
Starbucks and Shopping Improvements
Guests will notice several updates around the park in 2026. Starbucks locations inside the Main Gate and Hotel Breakers have been renovated with updated layouts and additional seating, while the Pagoda Gift Shop and Sweet Spot have been opened up to create a more connected shopping experience.
Millennium Force Refurbishment Continues Into 2026
Cedar Point’s multi-year refurbishment of Millennium Force continues through the 2026 season. The project includes track repairs, a complete repaint, and upgrades to the ride’s lift motor drive system and control panel, all designed to improve reliability, uptime, and dispatch speeds.
New Roundabout Welcomes Guests to Cedar Point
Guests driving to Cedar Point this season will notice a new roundabout at the intersection of Cleveland Road and Cedar Point Drive as part of the Cleveland Road Safety Improvement Project. The redesigned intersection was built to improve traffic flow to and from the Cedar Point Causeway and to change the way vehicles enter and exit the park. If you haven’t visited recently, be prepared for a different traffic pattern as you approach the entrance.
Tips For Your Next Cedar Point Trip
🗺️ Have a plan: Between summer crowds and ticket costs, you’ll get the most bang for your buck by doing some advance planning. Choose which rides and attractions are most important to you and plan your itinerary around them.
🎟️ Buy your tickets in advance: Tickets will always be cheaper when bought online compared to at the park entrance. Look for deals throughout the year for discount Cedar Point tickets.
📱 Use the mobile app: Cedar Point has its own mobile app. Use it to get the most out of your trip. The app includes an interactive map, dining options, ride wait times, a vehicle locator for parking, and other helpful tools and features.
🌧️ Check the weather: Weather can impact your trip to Cedar Point. Like other parks, Cedar Point shuts down most attractions during inclement weather. They’ve also been known to close certain roller coasters and taller attractions due to high winds.
🎢 Know park and ride policies: The park has several guidelines on what you can bring into the park and on its attractions. Read up on park guidelines to avoid getting stopped and wasting time.
⏰ Arrive early: Lines form quickly before the park opens, so get there early to make the most of your trip to Cedar Point. If you plan to start in the back of the park, consider using the rear entrance. Early entry is available for eligible Cedar Point resort guests and Prestige Passholders.
🍔 Purchase a dining plan: Amusement park dining can be pricy, but Cedar Point’s dining and beverage plans are a great way to save money.
🧒 Use Rider Swap: If you have young children, take advantage of the park’s Rider Swap Program so both parents or guardians can enjoy rides without waiting in lines twice. Head to Guest Services at the main gate, Town Hall, or the Magnum entrance gate to get your pass.
👟 Dress comfortably: Dress for the weather and wear something comfortable. Layering is usually a good idea since temperatures can vary during the day by Lake Erie. Wear comfortable, broken-in shoes. You can walk several miles during a day at the amusement park.
🥤 Stay hydrated: Pack water and take advantage of the park’s drink plans to stay hydrated throughout the day, especially during hot summer days spent in long lines.
💳 Bring a credit card or debit card: Cedar Point uses a cashless system for everything. You can use cash to buy a prepaid card in the park, but it’s better to just bring your own payment card.
🌙 Stay until dark: Cedar Point rides are so much more fun at night, especially when everything is lit up. The rides seem faster at night, too.
🌞 Pack sunscreen: Like water, sunscreen is a must, especially during the summer months.
📅 Time your trip to avoid crowds: Cedar Point has millions of visitors every season. Dates before schools go on summer break or after they’re back in session in August tend to be less crowded. Weekdays are generally less crowded than weekends.
🔋 Pack a power bank: If you use the Cedar Point mobile app or your cell phone while waiting in line, bring a power bank. You’ll need it.
Plan Your Next Visit
Cedar Point may not have debuted a major new roller coaster for 2026, but the park has made several noteworthy updates throughout the property. From Barrels & Bites and new live entertainment to guest experience enhancements and operational changes, there’s plenty for returning visitors to discover this season.
